Project Spotlight: A Layered Bathroom Retreat
From the beginning, the vision for this bathroom centered on balance—pairing bold, expressive materials with soft, grounding elements.
The goal was to create a space that feels like a true retreat: calm, elevated, and quietly luxurious.
The Foundation: Soft Texture + Subtle Movement
For the walls, Bernice selected Bedrosians’ Celine tile, introducing a handmade feel through subtle tonal variation and texture.
Installed vertically, the tile:
Enhances the height of the room
Creates a calming, organic rhythm
Adds warmth within a neutral palette
It’s a quiet material—but one that adds depth the longer you sit with it.
The Statement: Calacatta Antique Slab
To anchor the space, Bernice introduced the Calacatta Antique slab in the shower.
The veining brings movement and visual interest—almost like a piece of art—while the honed finish softens the overall look, keeping the space grounded.
Beyond aesthetics, the porcelain slab offers:

Ease of maintenance
The look of natural stone without the upkeep
Designing with Contrast
